The blog is part of the project “OPERAS-PL: Innovative science communication in the humanities. Development, Evaluation, Competence” conducted by the Digital Humanities Centre at IBL PAN in Warsaw, whose primary goal is to support innovative communication of the Polish humanities community and popularize the results of research among a wide audience. We intend to maintain a blog in the form of an open science notebook, reporting on the course of meetings conducted within the framework of the project, aimed at strengthening the competence of Polish humanists and the publishing community (presses, journal editors) in digital communication. The entries will also summarize good practices and business models developed during workshops conducted by members of the Digital Humanities Centre team and invited experts for various representatives of the scholarly sector.
Topics of the planned workshops include an overview of tools and good practices of digital scholarly communication for humanists, intellectual property on the Internet (sources of knowledge), opening data in the humanities, presentations of case studies, seminars on innovative forms of scholarly publishing, as well as business models and communication tools for publishers. Invited speakers, experts and the team will publish key findings and recommendations from the workshops and seminars.
We hope to promote good practices and disseminate information on innovative forms of scholarly communication among representatives of the humanities and its socio-economic environment.
